From Norman Stevens on 31/3/2006

I would like to express my thanks to the many supporters of Dunfermline Athletic who contributed the sum of £212.00 towards the donation of £220.00 that I have made to the MNDA through the Jimmy Johnstone Tribute Fund. I was at the CIS Cup Final wearing my DAFC jersey and a pair of Celtic shorts with a number 7 over my trousers. At East End Park before and after the game and on the bus to the game I showed off my shorts and asked for a £1.00 donation for the MNDA. First to contribute outside EEP was the DAFC Chairman John Yorkston and the last three to contribute back at EEP after the game were the Management Team of Jim Leishman and Craig Robertson and Club Captain Scott Thompson. At Hampden, on asking the advice of police officers, I was less 'in your face' regarding asking for donations but was not shy in approaching those who looked askance at my outfit - thanks go to some more Pars fans and one lady steward. I am old enough to have seen 'Jinky' play for both Celtic and Scotland and was pleased to take the opportunity of the Cup Final to raise some money for a worthy cause and to donate through a great site. (p.s. the shorts are useless to me now so if anyone would like to make an offer for 'Celtic No. 7 shorts worn at the CIS Cup Final, March 19th. 2006' with proceeds to the MNDA please contact me through the Centenary Suite at DAFC - I could even sign them for you and probably get Jim Leishman's signature also if requested.)
